My Aunt,Sister and Friend will be remembered by the footprints she left in my life. I thank her for loving me unconditionally through the years.
My heart hurts not to be there with my family during this time. Covid 19 has denied my opportunity of presence.

God answered my prayers to heal her… not my will… but his. During one of our last conversations she told me of her suffering…. she has been released from the toils of this life to a well deserved rest.
Melvin, Carol, Carl,Jr., William, grandchildren and great grand children you do not weep alone.
With time we will not remember the suffering she had to endure…we will remember her smile and the love she always shared with us.

    Death is our Friend

releases us from a body no longer fit for habitation

gives rest & relief from burden some toils of life

frees us from the possibility of pain & suffering

    is an entrance into heaven

express route to the land of no more pain/trials/ tribulations

I heard this sermon @ a time when death and suffering were lingering around my Pastor Dr. E. Thurman,Jr.. My Aunt Sallie Smith had passed in Aug. 2009. Pastor Walker would join her in death shortly after this sermon, 26 Oct. She too along w/ Pastor Walker were living testimonies to God’s Grace & Mercy. They were always there in my time of need. Outside of praying for them there was nothing I could do for them. I seemed to have them there to intercede on my behalf during different seasons in my life. Where would I go from here w/out them?
I realized that this message should be shared with other who will go through this valley a some point in time.
The human part of me wanted them to stay. After hearing this message it allowed me to get through their earthly departure were pain and suffering would be no more for them.
The matter of a physical departure has been and continues to pledge me. I now see the need for death for them and others suffering.
The lessons that they taught me continue to linger, however, the fragrance of their demise no longer brings on my selfish desire to have them here w/ me. They were ready to go. What is sweet to me now is that they knew Christ. Since he has power over death they are in better place than I and you if you are reading this. Now when people say “they are in a better place” I will not want to send them there swiftly.

This sermon gave me a new perspective on the earthly demise of my loved ones. Hope it helps you and yours.

I met Ms.Linda at her 70th birthday party. The next day I had the pleasure of meeting her husband and family when she entertained me and Robert Henderson at her home.
Her love of family and friends was evident in her smile and graciousness.
I feel the lose and of a new Friend gone to soon.
Her husband, son, daughter, grand and great gran children have my deepest sympathy.
    In peace,
Carol Howlett (life long friend of Robert Henderson)

Our hearts and prayers go out to the rest of the family at this most difficult time. Our cousin, Linda, had a wonderful spirit. She was kind and giving to a fault. She was always looking out for others more than herself. She was LOVE personified! She’s gained her wings and now sit among and with the Angels on high. She will be sorely missed but Heaven has gained another soldier!! May the peace that passeth all understanding envelope and sustain you. In Jesus’ name we pray.
