Liliane K. Jones passed away on December 31, 2020. “Karol”, as she was affectionately known, was daughter of Rosalie Y. James and William Kay of Florida. She was born on August 28, 1943. Karol was a graduate of Central State University of Ohio, where she became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.She married her college sweetheart, Melvin Jones, in August of 1965. Karol retired from the Cleveland Public School District after thirty plus years where she was an educator. Karol is survived by husband, Melvin of Cleveland, Ohio, sister, Sandra Kay (Weaver) and brother-in-law, William (Yogi) Weaver of Tampa, Florida, son Melvin L. of Cleveland, Ohio, and daughter Yvemarie K. of Detroit, Michigan. Karol leaves two granddaughters, Kyndall D. and Jyllian E. Foster, a grandson, Marshall B. Jones, all residing in Abingdon, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a celebration of Karol’s life will be held at a later date.
