Mr. McKinley Kennebrew

McKinley Kennebrew was born on September 15, 1934, in Roba (Tuskegee) Alabama to Thomas Kennebrew and Mozelle Chambliss. His siblings are Aaron Kennebrew, Lee Ethel Cooper and Rose Oliphant (deceased).

He graduated from Macon County Technical High School in 1953, which he
enlisted in the United States Army. He came to Cleveland, Ohio in 1957,
where he met Carrie Brooks. On September 5, 1959, they were married.
He worked at Central Chevrolet, Blaushield’s Chevrolet and Bass Chevrolet
where he retired in September 1996.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He would sit at the
banks of Lake Erie for hours, catching the breeze of the wind and coming
back home darker than what he left. Everytime he would come back from
fishing, we would ask, “did you catch anything?” and his response was,
“just a breeze.”

He was a loving father to everyone who came in his presence, either being
called, dad or Mr. Kennebrew. Whether giving advice on how to plant green
beans, when to pull off tomatoes, cutting grass, fishing or just answering
questions. He would treat everyone like they was one of his own. He
instilled in his children to do something to improve themselves, not be
afraid to talk to him and to become independent.

McKinley departed this life on March 19, 2015, at Metrohealth Hospital
due to health complications. He leaves to mourn three sons, Lonnie
Brooks, Dwayne and Michael Kennebrew, two daughters; Jacqueline and
Michelle Kennebrew, two granddaughters Daisha and DeJonay Taylor, a
brother Aaron (Agnes) Kennebrew, and Lee Ethel Cooper, eleven nieces,
six nephews, seven great nieces, twelve great nephews, two great-great
nieces, six great-great nephews, host of family and friends.
