Mr. John Eric Lawson (Mangum)

JOHN ERIC LAWSON,

Was born on March 19, 1979 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late JoAnn Wren Lawson.  John graduated from Glenville High School in 1997.  John always had an interest in the police force/security so he became an armed security officer for CMHA in Cleveland, OH.  Later on about 2005 John decided to make the move to Atlanta, GA where his older brothers DeJung and James resided.  While there John held a few different jobs until he secured his position as a security guard with Wells Fargo.  John loved to travel around the USA, he loved to be around his family, going out to dinner and just hanging out among many other things.  John was a very loving and compassionate person who truly cared about how you were doing.  John’s smile would light up a room and his laughter would fill your heart.

John is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and JoAnn Lawson and his oldest brother Jake Mangum and nephew Jake Jr.  He leaves behind his brothers DeJung (Jacinta), James (Jennifer), Charles (Shelley), Timothy (Khalilah), Ryan (Ebony) and his sister Stacy (George).  He also leaves his nephews Anthony, DeJung Jr., Aaron, Jordan, Timothy Jr., Jeremy, Timothy III and his nieces Patience, Sienna, MaryJane, Kaitlynn, Brooklynn, Jade and a host of other relatives, family and friends to mourn his loss.

John passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 in Atlanta, GA. Funeral service Monday, March 9, 2015 11am at Beth-El AME Church, 1428 E.110th Street. Family will receive friends at 1030am. Public viewing Sunday, March 8, 2015 9am-5pm at funeral home.

I am deeply sorry for your loss of John. My heart goes out you. Losing a dear loved can leave a very empty space in our life. Please know that you are never alone. God promises us that he himself will be “near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18) Death is something we will never get use to, in fact, the Bible refers to death as an enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:26) Very soon our loving Heavenly Father will remove death once and for all by means of a similar resurrection as that of Lazarus (John 11). This will then give us the opportunity to see our loved ones again for countless generations of time. Again, please accept my sincere condolences.
