Ethel B. Chiles

Mrs. Ethel B. Moon Chiles was born February 5, 1926 to the late Mattie and Perry Moon of Alexander City, Alabama. Ethel united with Christ at a young age. She graduated from Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City. Later she was employed at Alexander City Hospital. Ethel moved to Cleveland, Ohio in the early 1960s where she worked for Bam Burger Reinthal Company. Ethel married early in life and from this union two children were born Shirley Ann and Willie. She later found love and companionship and married Lawrence Chiles on February 22, 1970. Ethel had several hobbies she especially enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching her favorite teams The New York Yankees (baseball) and the Pittsburg Steelers (football). Ethel’s health began to fail in 2011. Ethel was the last surviving sibling of the Moon family. She leaves to cherish her memories son Willie Chiles, daughter Shirley Ann Chiles, and one granddaughter Theresa all of Cleveland Ohio, and a loyal and dedicated niece Juliet Sistrunk also of Cleveland, Ohio along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

Passed away September 28, 2014. Funeral service Saturday, October 4, 2014 11am at funeral home. Family will receive friends at 1030am. Public viewing Friday, October 3, 2014 12noon-7pm.
