Alene Saddler

Alene Saddler cherished life with a powerful spirit of caring and love for others. For God said” Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Ye do well:  (James2:8)  She took on life’s challenges with faith and hope, knowing  she could do all things  through Christ which strengthened her.God in His infinite wisdom sent His angels from His clouds of mercy with a message for Alene: “The battle is over, the victory is won; peace and rest await you.” Alene  was  born  on April  15,1926  to  the  late  Victoria  (Pool)  in Crawford, Spartanburg, SC.  Alene was raised by her aunt and uncle the late Fannie and James Crawford in Spartanburg, SC.  She attended Carver High School.  Alene worked in private homes. After moving to Cleveland in1952, she worked for the VA Hospital for 29years. Alene joined Mount Pleasant Baptist Church under the spiritual lead­ership of the late Reverend David C. Calvert in1958 and served under the late  Reverend Luther C.  McDaniel  and the present pastor, Reverend Dwayne M. Simmons.  She was a member of the Cathedral Choir until her health prevented her from attending. Alene was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Thomas Saddler, November 3,1946. Thomas preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish  her memory, three sisters,  Willie M. Pearson, Dorothy Crawford  and Estellie  Nash  all  of  Spartanburg, SC;  one brother-in-law, Richard  (Alma) Saddler; niece, Sandra  Moss; nephews, Barnard Saddler and Donell Saddler, Cleveland, OH;  other cherished relatives and friends.

Public viewing Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at funeral home 12-7pm.

Funeral service Wednesday, August 6, 2014 1030am at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 13009 Kinsman Road. Family will receive friends at 10am.
